God wants to hear from you. Maybe you have forgotten how He sees you. He does care for you. Here are some of His thoughts toward you:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)
For only a penny you can buy two sparrows, yet not one sparrow falls to the ground without your Father’s consent. As for you, even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth much more than many sparrows!
Matthew 10:29-31 (GNBDC)
Reunite with God. Make this the year that you get back to the start. Get back to the beginning. What does this mean?
You have stopped working on an assignment last year or even years before. You gave up when things got tough. You stopped the focus when it got a bit challenging. You walked away crying, fussing, complaining, shouting words like “I can’t do it” and “Someday I’ll get back to it.” Well, the Lord wants you to reunite with Him so that He may propel you. So, give Him back your heart and allow Him to lead you.
When you reunite with Him, He will give you what you need to understand the steps to finish the assignment, step into the dream, write the book, or assign the project. Whatever it is that He gave you before, do it. What happens when you reunite with your family? Remember the last family reunion you attended? You get caught up on things you’ve missed. You see how much that cousin has grown and accomplished. You are inspired by how your aging aunt is getting along in her new season of life. You marvel at how many second and third generations of cousins you now have that you are meeting for the first time! You get reacquainted with situations, problems, and requests for help. Reuniting draws us back home.
It is the same with God. When we reunite with Him, there is power. One well-known biblical example of reuniting is found in the story of the prodigal son, as told by Luke in 15:11-32. The reunion between the father and son is powerful. Think about your reunion with a long-lost family member.
But to reunite, you need to make yourself seen. It would be best to let go of fear, hindering beliefs, and doubt. Open your mouth. God knows what’s in your heart, but He wants to hear you speak. Taking a faith step involves you doing something. Scripture says that God moves when we exhibit faith (James 1:5- 6; 4:8). Beloved family, stop with the excuses. Pick up your mat and take that step today, for today is the day of salvation. Why wait until tomorrow? Reunite with God today.
You are asking how. Here are the practicals:
- Open and read the Bible. Or, start with a YouVersion devotional. There, He will speak to you about His revealed will. The only way to know God’s will is to read it in the Good Book, right? When you begin to apply it, you will know God’s concealed will. This means He will show you what to do for your situation. The more you read the Logos (written word), the more you will know His voice.
- Cry out in prayer—out loud, breathe prayers, or write prayers. Journal your heart’s cries and desires and then put them before God. Thank Him for it, even with a song (Psalm 69:30)!
- Connect with someone who can help you in your reunion journey. This year, build, rebuild, and reunite. Connect with a spiritual family, a church (online or in person), or a para ministry so that you grow. Then, you will be propelled. You will come to an understanding. There is power in unity; when two or more agree, there is power. So, connect. There is power in connection, in reuniting!
