October is here.
The evidence of change is all around. We are 11 days in and already the weather has fluctuated from the beautiful blue warmth of summer to the cold and rainy grays sometimes seen. The leaves, while still green in places, will begin to descend to the ground where their color will fade into the brown crunch that we know accompanies Fall.
The evidence of change is all around. We look before us with reminiscence and wonder what tomorrow may bring. Trying to hold onto yesterday is pointless, for it is gone. And while tomorrow is yet to behold, we stand in today while there is breath. Seize that!
The evidence of change is all around. How does it grow us forward? Or, does it hold us back? Change is scary but good. Change is necessary. Without it we are the same, immobile; we die. Because of it, there is hope; we live. Embrace change.
Why?
Because there is One who is immutable. There is One who says to stand on today, for yesterday is no more and tomorrow is not promised. The evidence of change is all around yet there is One who does not change, One who is unshakeable, One who is unfailing. Take hold of that Anchor, sinking deep into what He gives you.
October is here. Embrace change and live.
