The Clutter Has Got to Go

As I looked around my room and saw some things out of place, things that didn’t belong, I said out loud, “The clutter has got to go!” In that moment I realized just as our houses and offices can become cluttered when we are not taking care to prune, weed, and clean out, so can our spiritual houses. Singing a faithful melody then becomes choked, or non-existent.

Clutter is a trick of the enemy. It pulls you down and away from operating in excellence. Its weight can be like a millstone where you are dragged down to a state of in-operation or ineptness, where the results can be deadly, at worst, concerning at best.

Clutter comes in many forms. Most of us know the kind that lives in our house or office in the form of an unkempt room where clothes or paperwork and books are strewn every which way but right.

But there is a clutter that we cannot see within ourselves, for it is only felt. However, some who have the Proper Understanding can see it, though. This form is of a supernatural type and takes many shapes. The expression of this type in its various forms is seen in our behavior, by the words we speak, and even by what we do not say. At the highest point of its operation, we are inoperable, mute, voiceless. This type causes us to bring harm to ourselves and others. And again, harm is made or seen or felt in various forms. It may be silent or vocal. This clutter causes us to not be able to think straight, to not do right, and to act impulsively. It weighs on your emotions because it understands that your emotions are tied to your soul, to that feelings part of your triune nature. It loves living there because of the soft place it is where things can cling and grow in proportion. It realizes that if the soul to which it is attached is not connected to Proper Understanding and Truth, its roots can dig in and manifest in a way that will persuade and perpetuate a pungent, false truth that the living soul will ultimately come to believe, and so live in a constant state of clutter. Yes, pungent. Because some of those with Proper Understanding can also smell it!

This latter type of clutter – the supernatural kind – can only come out and be cleansed by way of a correct way of thinking, proper understanding, surrender and a release, and a turning to the One Who Heals. Sometimes the soul to whom it is attached has a little Light left that is small enough to begin a spark of transformation. It only takes a small seed!! And sometimes that person has the strength from the small seed to add fasting and prayer to the little Light that is within because the recognition is still seen and felt. However, most times it takes other Light bearers to stand in the gap through intercessions of prayers – praise and warfare – so that the clutter dissipates and ceases to exist in that soul.

What happens when the de-cluttering occurs? What happens when our hearts become uncluttered?

  1. We find things that we thought were lost. We realize they were there the entire time, visible to the eye, and right in front of us. But due to the clutter, we couldn’t see.

  2. We feel lighter.

  3. We can breathe normally again.

  4. We flow with ease through our assignments.

  5. We realize we have a voice.

  6. We smile and even sing.

  7. We rest comfortably.

  8. Weight comes off (physically, emotionally, and therefore spiritually)*

Bear the Light for yourself and for others. Clean the areas of your house now! Help a friend to clean theirs. Because the clutter has got to go.

*This bears mentioning: Realize that if you don’t take care of the natural, it will take shape and begin to manifest in the spiritual realm.
